Meet Beijing’s model citizen
This week’s Fashionista is not so much about what you wear, than about the small details which make you stand out in the crowd. So who else to feature than Beijing-based model and actress, Varya Vodar? As an American who went to Japan for high school and recently graduated from Beijing’s Film Academy, Varya has quite the international resume. She is a natural in front of the lens and has all the components Tyra Banks claims are necessary to make a top model: "It’s all about the lips, hips and hair." Varya has the naturally pouty lips, slender hips and long shiny hair that all girls (and guys) lust after. As a rising star in the industry, Varya has to keep her skin radiant and goes for Jurlique facials at Oriental Taipan. “The combination of antioxidants and moisture is a must before a major shoot,” she tells us. To keep her hair long, strong and healthy, she gets conditioning treatments at Shenmei Hair Salon to protect against the constant styling her hair endures during photo shoots. As for her stunning figure, she hits the treadmill at Nirvana gym and throws in a couple yoga classes from Yoga Yard to keep her muscles lean and defined. She goes to Lily Nails (on Floor 4 of Yashow) to get her fingernails and toenails painted a juicy fuchsia and hails the necessity of pampering your digits: “Your hands say a lot about who you are.” Thank you, Varya, for sharing some tricks to the trade and being a suave combination of beauty and brains.
