Lindsay Lohan looked on edge and rail-thin as she hit Los Angeles’s Melrose Avenue on Tuesday

The actress’ ribcage and sinewy arms were on show

She was left devastated by her split from girlfriend Samantha Ronson earlier this month and now it seems Lindsay Lohan’s heartache is taking a physical toll too.

The Mean Girls actress looked skinnier than ever as she hit LA’s Melrose Avenue for an afternoon of retail therapy with her 15-year-old sister Ali.

Her cream halter-neck sundress hung off her rail-thin frame with the cut-away back revealing her protruding ribcage and sinewy arms.

The 22-year-old looked on edge during the outing, clutching a can of Coca-Cola and biting her fingernails as she stopped to try on reading glasses at an optometrist.

Lindsay’s weight has yo-yoed dramatically over the years from buxom to skeletal. Mail Online reported.

Her current appearance is reminiscent of her look in 2005, when a friendship with Nicole Richie and super-skinny stylist Rachel Zoe saw her weight plummet.

Fantasy and reality: two faces of Kate Moss

The face is familiar, but there’s something not quite right about this picture.

Someone’s taken Kate Moss out of her skinny jeans, done up her hair and persuaded her to put the cigarette out.

The partying supermodel, 35, looks almost regal in this taffeta creation by Oscar de la Renta.

But then the picture was taken by photographer Annie Leibovitz, famed for her portrait of the Queen.

It is featured in next month’s Vogue magazine to mark this year’s Costume Institute gala in New York.

Yesterday Kate showed the more recognisable side of her image as she dressed down for a trip to the shops near her north London home.

Dressed in a scruffy torn short skirt, black blazer and trilby, she couldn’t have looked more different to the poised perfection shown in her Vogue shoot.

Sponsored by designer Marc Jacobs, the superparty at the Metropolitan Museum of Art rivals the Oscars for glamour.

Moss is co-hosting the gala with singer Justin Timberlake.

Mr Jacobs said of Moss: ‘There has been so much written about her personal style. But it isn’t her personal style that interests me, it’s her person; it’s the life and the spirit.’ Mail Online reported.

Lindsay Lohan: I’m back on men

Lindsay is said to have told Mel that she is ‘back on men’

Lindsay Lohan has been pulling out all the stops to prove that she has moved on from her split from Samantha Ronson.

And the actress was on fine form last night as she attended the world premiere of Mel B’s new burlesque show Peepshow in Las Vegas.

The 22-year-old, dressed in a low-cut black dress and burgundy shoes, posed for pictures with the Spice Girl and told her she was ‘back on men’, according to reports.

The twosome are said to have got on so well that they left the event together.

‘They went on to a comedy club before returning to Lindsay’s penthouse suite. It had a hot tub and a marble cocktail bar – Lindsay was joking about making the most of all the facilities.’

33-year-old Mel’s husband Stephen Belafonte also attended the show along with US celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.

Meanwhile it seems that Mel wasn’t the only friend Lindsay made at the bash, the star was reportedly seen flirting with a mystery man earlier in the evening.

‘At the after-party she focused her attentions on a good looking young guy and the pair were quickly introduced,’ a source is quoted as telling The Mirror.

‘After swapping numbers they were texting throughout – from opposite sides of the swimming pool.’

Friends are said to be concerned about Lindsay’s mental state in the wake of her split from DJ Samantha Ronson.

Kelly Brook enjoys a splash in the Caribbean

Barbados’s Got Kelly: Kelly Brook enjoys a splash around in the Caribbean in a red one-piece

Coupled up: Kelly and her boyfriend Danny Cipriani kissed and cuddled on the beach on Friday

When you’ve been axed from one of the most popular shows on TV, you can’t blame Kelly Brook for wanting to run away.

So when Britain’s Got Talent returned to the TV screens on Saturday without her as a judge, the glamour model made sure she was thousands of miles away in the Caribbean.

While Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden gave their opinion on wannabe variety stars, Kelly was a world away holidaying in Barbados with boyfriend Danny Cipriani.

A day after putting on a beachside public display of affection together, Danny stayed back at the hotel leaving Kelly to show off her assets in a figure-hugging red swimsuit.

In scenes reminiscent of Pamela Anderson’s iconic beach run in Baywatch, Kelly jogged through the surf in the leaf-print one-piece.

Fortunately for Ms Brook’s male fans, a photographer was on hand to capture the model’s beach fun.

Earlier in the weekend, Kelly and her rugby player beau silenced recent reports they had split up by kissing and cuddling each other on the beach.

With Kelly dressed in a black and white polka dot bikini, she ran her fingers through her hair as she frolicked with Danny in the sea.

Kelly and Danny, 21, started dating in September last year, just weeks after she ended her on/off engagement to Titanic actor Billy Zane.

The couple quickly became inseparable and after a few months of dating, Kelly announced she was in love with the Wasps player.

After previously dating two actors, Kelly is revelling in dating someone from a different career.

She said: ‘It’s actually really refreshing to be with someone who isn’t in my business because it’s something else that we can talk about.

‘And I’m really interested in what he does because it’s what he does and I love him.’

Despite Kelly’s previous penchant for older men – Billy was 14 years older and Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels actor Jason Statham was eight years older – it appears she has changed her outlook on younger men.

She said: ‘I know more about hip-hop music than I ever did before. He’s closer in age to me than anyone I’ve ever been with.

‘That’s the reality. If I’d known it was this good I’d have done it years ago.

‘Not to be rude, and I don’t want to knock my previous relationships, but I couldn’t be happier.’

Even though Kelly judged three days of Britain’s Got Talent auditions in Manchester in January, she did not appear in Saturday’s episode of the new series.

The former Big Breakfast presenter was embarrassed when producers fired her from the show after less than a week, claiming the BGT format did not support a fourth judge.

When judge Amanda was asked last week how she felt when Kelly was axed, she said: ‘I wasn’t sad. I sound like Miss World when I’m saying this but I put myself in her position and thought, “I would f**king hate for that to happen to me.”

‘So I can’t say that I went, “Yippee.” But four judges was a judge too far on the show. And I do like being the only girl.’

Drew plays eccentric Little Edie Beale in Grey Gardens

The actress withdrew from friends and the modern world for three months to fully inhabit the character of Edie

Actress Drew Barrymore stepped out in a chic new plaited look last night, showing she’s streets ahead when it comes to hair fashion, the Mail reported.

The 34-year-old movie veteran reinvented herself just in time for a round of promotional interviews ahead of the premiere of her new film Grey Gardens.

Drew showed off the intricate Grecian style hairdo – an updo was at New York’s ABC studios to record an appearance on show Live with Regis And Kelly! yesterday.

Maybe she was inspired by singer Jessica Simpson, who debuted her own take on the braided look over the holiday weekend.

The 34-year-old actress was in town to promote new movie, Grey Gardens which premieres on cable channel HBO Saturday, April 18th.

Dressed in a sleek striped monochrome shift dress, accentuated by a pair of flame red peeptoes shoes, smiley Drew looked slim and toned as she was seen leaving a television studio in New York on Monday.

Drew stars alongside actress Jessica Lange in the riches-to-rags story of two charming eccentrics who were relatives of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis.

The HBO film is based on a documentary made in 1975 by Albert and David Maysles, who spent six weeks with the reclusive mother ‘Big Edie’ Bouvier Beale, played by Lange and daughter ‘Little Edie’ Bouvier Beale, played by Barrymore capturing their everyday life in its raw, uncensored moments.

Grey Gardens charts the two Beale women’s extraordinary bond, and why they chose to live in squalor and isolation in a decaying, 28-room house in East Hampton until someone finally notified Jackie O of their condition.

Drew, was a fan of the documentary, and upon reading the script had a passionate desire to play Little Edie.

I would have done anything for this part,” she told television show Entertainment Tonight.

‘I studied; I read everything; I lived in Edie’s world.’

Drew was so determined to get the role she promised director/writer Michael Sucsy: ‘I will do everything in my power [not to disappoint you].’

In order to fully inhabit the character, Drew says she didn’t talk on a mobile phone, watch television or read or listen to anything anything that Little Edie hadn’t seen or heard.

‘I went into a total monastery and didn’t speak to any friends for three months,’ she said.
